Lenovo unveils the new ThinkBook 14, 15 for the SMB market starting at Rs 30,990

Lenovo announced the introduction of an all-new sub-brand, ThinkBook, catering to small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) today. In this new product offering, Lenovo unveiled the ThinkBook 14 and ThinkBook 15 which, according to the company, are an amalgamation of consumer and business-oriented devices. The ThinkBook 14 and 15 are powered by up to 10th Gen Intel i7 6-core processors and feature AMD Radeon 625 and 620 GPUs respectively. The base model of the ThinkBook 14 and 15 will be priced at Rs 30,990. Lenovo representatives did not comment on the expected price of the highest-end ThinkBook 14 and 15 models.

The ThinkBook 14 and 15 have an FHD anti-glare display

Rahul Agarwal, CEO and MD, Lenovo India stated, "The new wave of business leaders expects their workplace devices to do more but with a minimalist look. ThinkBook is a perfect fit to fill this existing product gap in the SMB marketplace".

The notebooks are attractive to look at and also sport a premium feel in-hand. We primarily got up and close with the ThinkBook 14. Wrapped in an anodized aluminium chassis and sporting an overall metallic finish with slim L/R bezels, the ThinkBook 14 and 15 come equipped with a bunch of features that seem like a mix between consumer-friendly and business-oriented. They come equipped with a Type-C port for charging as well as data transfers, Skype Hot Keys that allow users to answer and decline Skype for Business calls with a single button, stereo speakers with integrated Dolby Audio, 12 hours of battery life and RapidCharge technology that charges the devices up to 80% in an hour.

The screen folds flat completely on both, ThinkBook 14 and 15

In addition to these features, the ThinkBook 14 and 15 are also equipped with Smart Power on, which is essentially a fingerprint sensor built into the power button that allows quick and secure access to the device. Other key features include dual drive support within SSD-only model size, a hidden USB port for USB dongles, and Wi-Fi 6.

In terms of security, the ThinkBook 14 and 15 are protected by Lenovo Vantage, which is an inbuilt Wi-Fi security feature that detects and alerts users of potential malicious networks, all in real-time.  The devices also incorporate a nifty little physical slider on the webcam to keep it covered when not in use called ThinkShutter. There's no automatic detection mode on this slider and it must be operated manually.

A plethora of I/O ports - an ethernet port, HDMI port, two USB Type-C ports (one for charging and data transfer), a USB 3.1 Type-A port and finally an audio jack

Lenovo also prides itself in the business-grade services they provide to the users of these business notebooks, including international warranty and continued support over a period of 5 years to SMBs using the ThinkBooks. SMBs will get access to technical account managers who will be their point of contact for case management. SMBs can also avail next-business-day repair services and prioritised parts access.
